Characteristics and Application of Halogen Bulb
2019-10-28 14:50:29

Halogen lamps are made of tungsten wire. Halogen lamps can also operate at a higher temperature than incandescent lamps. Their brightness and efficiency are also higher. However, at this temperature, ordinary glass may soften, so halogen bulbs need quartz glass with higher melting point. Because quartz glass can't block ultraviolet rays, this halogen bulb usually needs to use an additional ultraviolet filter. The gas in the glass shell is composed of different gases to form a halogen lamp group. These gases have a very interesting property: they combine with tungsten vapor. If the temperature is not high enough, the tungsten atoms combined with halogen gas evaporate and re deposit on the filament. This cycle, the filament lasted a lot of time. In addition, it can run hot filament, which means you get more light energy. At the same time, if the crystal glass on the halogen bulb has oil, the temperature on the glass will be different, reducing the life of the bulb. Therefore, when changing halogen bulb, avoid touching the glass of bulb by hand. Its application: the halogen lamp is usually used in the occasions that need concentrated illumination, and it is generally used in automobile headlight and rear lamp, rolling mill, lathe, turning center, metal processing machinery, etc. Halogen bulb with the advantages of high light efficiency, good color rendering and long service life has become the first choice of high-end cars, rear projection TV and other light sources.
